Wear Your Cap to School Day 2008

Hat World, Inc., Caps for Kids and New Era Cap have joined forces to raise awareness and funds to benefit children affected by Caps for Kids.

Since its inception in 2004, Wear Your Cap to School Day has raised $250,000 benefitting Caps for Kids. More than 100,000 students at 298 schools have participated in Wear Your Cap to School Day.

Hat World, Inc.'s vision is to increase awareness and support for Caps for Kids and youth diagnosed with and being treated for cancer. We hope to encourage schools and their students to participate in Wear Your Cap to School Day. Our goal is to raise awareness around pediatric cancer in local communities, while raising funds for Caps for Kids so it can continue to provide these special young people with autographed caps; instilling pride and confidence during their treatment.

Debra Kojima, 6th Grade teacher

"I learned about your cause at a Yankee game and was much moved. As a person who this awful sickness has affected I felt the need to help. We raised $516.55 for Caps For Kids. The children really enjoyed participating and wanted to help the children in any way that they could. We look forward to participating in WYCTSD next year."

Meredith Landau, Teacher
P.S. 159, Brooklyn, NY

"Our elementary school rallied around this event. Students were motivated when they were told they could wear their hats in school for a day. As the day drew near, many students embraced the idea of supporting children suffering with cancer. We had a very successful day! Students raised money gained awareness of cancer and its treatments, and felt that they were doing something good and helping children in need. Throughout the course of the day, many teachers commented on the success of our day"

Frank Burkhardt, 5th Grade Teacher
Milton School, Rye, NY
